The I-ADVANCE™ Certification Program

I-ADVANCE™ is an industry-wide certification program designed to validate and recognize the technical knowledge, industry experience, business and interpersonal skills of ICT professionals. The goal? To equip professionals with a unique, integrated certification that meets national industry standards.

The program was developed in partnership with industry, government, educational institutions and ICT professionals. I-ADVANCE™ leverages existing vendor and professional certifications. It covers the full spectrum of ICT industry jobs, along with the competencies required to fulfill them—from technical knowledge to business, interpersonal and teamwork skills.

No other certification program combines technical and soft skills like I-ADVANCE™ does.

I-ADVANCE™ Designations

There are six different ICT designations in the I-ADVANCE™ Certification Program. The program provides mobility and career path options for ICT practitioners and managers:

Why I-ADVANCE™?

I-ADVANCE™ is a fully integrated certification program that maps, assesses and recognizes the skills of professionals against industry standards. The program offers valuable benefits, whether you are an employee or job-seeker charting your career path, or an employer trying to plan your HR requirements and maximize your workforce.

Advancing the Digital Economy: Success Through Professional Development

Held on November 16-17, 2011 in Ottawa, this forum brought together the industry professionals who participated in our I-ADVANCE™ National Steering Committee and National Working Group to explore the value of lifelong professional development—and how I-ADVANCE™ will contribute to developing Canada’s digital economy.

This highlights video summarizes the lessons drawn from the forum and explores the value of I-ADVANCE™ Certification for employers and employees.
