ICT Competency Profiles – allows employers to review comprehensive job profiles from a national database, and match relevant competencies and behaviours with specific positions within their organization. You can also share, develop and archive effective interview guides in order to help ensure prospective employees align with required skills and experience.
Finally it allows employers to perform, dispatch and review self-assessments and learning plans.
I-ADVANCE Certification Program- is a professional ICT certification program that validates the diverse skills of ICT Practitioner, mitigating the risks of hiring and training, and improving their overall productivity to successfully compete in the global economy.
Outlook 2011-2015– is a semi annual report that will forecast the need for, and the supply of, skilled workers. This report will allow companies to see the direction of the ICT industry and begin developing HR strategies to ensure their ongoing success in the market.
Trends - provides monthly results from the Labour Force Survey for IT occupations used to gauge labour market trends. This allows employers to see what is going on in the industry and gives them an advantage when dealing with their own HR issues.
Career Focus - Provides eligible companies with a subsidy equal to one-third the eligible participant’s salary over a maximum one-year work experience period. This offers employers the benefit of gaining employees with cutting-edge skills, and gives participants valuable experience within a work environment. Companies can take advantage of the investment made in skills development and retain the employee upon completion. Frequently, companies will retain graduates as full-time employees upon completion of the work experience period.
Human Resources Management Guide for Canadian ICT Companies – This guide is a practical tool primarily intended for front-line managers (immediate supervisors) who will view it as a reference and support document with regard to issues surrounding human capital management. This document makes it possible to establish effective human resources management strategies, programs and mechanisms. It also answers concrete questions that emerge each day with regard to hiring, retention, diversity, compensation, performance evaluation, training, time management, drafting employee manuals, and occupational health and safety issues.
Partnership – ICTC works with employers to get input, offer guidance and direction to help solve the HR supply challenge facing the ICT sector in Canada.
Focus on IT – FIT is a special two-year course of study for students in grades 11 and 12. It was created to prepare students for a world that runs on technology and offers a two-year business simulation model to give them vital real-world experience. Pilot studies have shown that more than 90% of FIT graduates go on to post-secondary education. FIT graduates on average achieve marks that are 16–20% higher than those of other students, and often act as classroom mentors.
