In partnership, ICTC’s Immigration Initiatives has developed mentorship programs aimed at the integration of information and communications technology (ICT) internationally educated professionals (IEPs) and at training employer mentors.
Corporate Connections – Toronto
Delivered in partnership with JVS Toronto, IEPs were given the opportunity to meet multiple employees from several organizations. During sessions with each representative/mentor, discussions ranged from Industry suggestions, resumé review and mock interviews. Nine mentor organizations, including 19 representatives committed a half day to this mentorship program over the course of six weeks.
Strategic Mentorship Program – Ottawa
Delivered in partnership with Integration Resources Canada (IRC) and the Ottawa Chinese Community Service Centre (OCCSC), the program delivered training to employers who were interested in mentoring ICT IEPs. The training took place over seven weeks, and included 14 mentors. The program was designed to help potential mentors identify common barriers IEPs need to overcome to integrate into the Canadian workplace, and to teach mentors how to help IEPs navigate the Canadian workplace environment.
