INTRODUCTION 
This guide is provided as an overview of useful resources to assist you, as an Internationally Educated IT Professional (IEP), in researching and finding out more about Canada, about the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector and ICT labour market in Canada.
 
What is ICTC?
The Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC) (formerly known as the Software Human Resource Council - SHRC) is a not-for-profit sector council dedicated to creating a strong, prepared and highly-educated Canadian ICT industry and workforce. ICTC is a catalyst for change that provides skills definitions, labour market intelligence. We also believe that increased career awareness and professional development is the pathway to a successful sector.  We forge partnerships with industry, government and educational institutions to help develop the quantity and quality of ICT professionals needed to maintain and improve Canada’s position as a leader in the global marketplace.

What is the ICT sector?
The Information and Communications Technology sector encompasses all companies that develop goods or services that process, transmit or receive information.
