ICTC is currently assessing the feasibility of a single, integrated and reliable recognition/certification system for ICT professionals.

Industry members tell us that they are looking for technical workers who have customer-facing and management skills as well as technical training.  A certification/recognition system will assist employers in finding well-rounded candidates while at the same time offering individuals the information and tools they need to progress in their careers.

Path to Recognition (PTR) will build on previous work related to skills and accountabilities in 36 ICT occupations outlined in the Occupational Skills Profile Model. The project will include a standardized framework for the recognition of competencies, credentials and experience attained by ICT workers, incorporating interpersonal skills, other business skills and vendor certifications as well as the more traditional technical skills. This phase of the project will test the ICTC model under development and qualify the market for soft-certification.
