Charles Bazilewich

Sisler Cyber Academy Founder, Post-Secondary Instructor and Graduate Student

Empowering students with opportunities to pursue meaningful career opportunities in Information Technology (IT) has been the driving force behind Charles Bazilewich’s 14-year career in IT and technology education. Charles believes that students often lack opportunities to adapt to ever-changing industry demands, and develop critical thinking, leadership and technical skills that employers seek. He believes students with educational programming that support the acquisition of the aforementioned skills combined with 21st century skills such as creativity, ideation, entrepreneurship and leadership will result in a versatile, flexible student capable of adapting to industry demands. Charles has been a member of the Manitoba Education and Advanced Learning curriculum development team which authored the Senior Years Technology Education Networking and Cyber Security provincial framework, and was a Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence recipient for his work in establishing Sisler High School’s Network and Cyber Security Academy as Canada’s Leading technology education program. Charles aspires to make further contributions to the education through graduate studies at the University of Manitoba. His research objectives aim to explore organization structure in education systems that support technology education implementation across Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) disciplines.
