3rd Annual Intelligent Cities Summit
5 November 2018 - 6 November 2018
The summit aims to inform and facilitate discussions among city professionals and industry experts about: urban governance – how private sector partnership can lead to intelligent cities; what it takes to establish an intelligent municipality; addressing diverse themes from city management to infrastructure development; how disruptive trends are changing and transforming the urban mobility and how it impacts residents; and Hear how to enhance processes in city public services such as waste management, transportation, public libraries, data privacy.
Jeremy Depow, Vice-President for Policy & Research and Chair of Day 1 of the Summit, will give a welcome address. He will also moderate one of the day’s sessions on “Rethinking Urban Governance; Municipalities at the Service of Population Needs.”
On Day 2, ICTC President and CEO, Namir Anani, will be moderating the panel: Intra-Municipality Collaboration – Dream or Reality? The panel will focus on:
- Coherent technology, data and applications ecosystem
- Integrating local, provincial and federal systems
- Advancing intelligent city through collaboration
Cities are utilizing the connectivity power of the internet to support their services and performance. In general, nearly one million people move into cities each week. With such massive inflow of people, the question is how do cities adapt to accommodate with sufficient services for all. North American cities are growing at the highest rate since last century boom, with millennials moving in at a rapid rate, urban planners will need to create intelligent, integrated public services infrastructure to handle the volume of customers. Smart city technologies will allow the improvement of quality of life services like reduction of traffic congestion, food distribution, sustainable economics and environmental overload.
