The Information and Communications and Technology Council (ICTC) is excited to be joined by The Cooperators Group Limited (Cooperators) to develop the next generation of Fintech Talent for Canada through the FinTech Collaborative – an innovative model of developing the next generation of fintech talent driven by a network of fintech companies and partners across Canada. The auspicious group of post-secondary students will have the opportunity to work with a proud Canadian bilingual Co-operative and learn the skills that will help catapult themselves forward in their careers while assisting the Cooperators innovate and grow their organization.

The Collaborative is presented by ICTC’s Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Digital Program which provides advanced skills to students and contributes to increasing the employability of students in emerging tech sectors.  Upon completion, students will receive the FinTech Collaborative digital certificate which will be validated by ICTC, the employer and industry partners to recognize, sector specific (unique) skills learned during students work-placement.

“We are very excited to work with ICTC to provide such valuable experience to students. This gives us the opportunity to not only employ them for a co-op term but to give them experience and training that will set them up for success” said Ron Mooibroek, Manager of the Incubation Center where much of the FinTech innovation takes place.
