ICTC EXECUTIVE TEAM
With a mandate of expanding ICTC’s presence on both the national and international stage, Kevin Wennekes supports all aspects of ICTC’s core business units through strategic communications planning and leadership in the areas of media relations, stakeholder engagement, marketing, business transformation, change management, and brand awareness.
Kevin brings over 15 years of non-profit management experience, spanning multiple capabilities from media relations and stakeholder engagement to strategic planning, international relations, and business development. He has extensive reach into key government, private sector and academic networks and a demonstrated passion for the advancement of ICTC goals.
Kevin is a long-standing champion and supporter of ICTC. He started as a Board member when the organization was still a part of the federal government’s sector council program and, over the past decade, has been an active champion and promoter of ICTC research and programs through his previous professional roles.
Kevin held several progressive leadership roles at the Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance over a 15-year period, culminating in the position of Chief Business Officer. He was a Senior Partner at the startup online performance management company ePenso.com, an organizational effectiveness management consultant at Watson Wyatt Worldwide, and media relations officer for the National Museum of Science and Technology Canada. Over a five-year period, Kevin was also responsible for creating new business opportunities for Canadian companies in China, where he travelled extensively to over a dozen different cities and regions and was ultimately invited to speak at the Great Hall of the People about the importance of continued trade and business partnerships between the two nations.
Kevin has served on over a dozen different boards and advisory groups, including most recently the Ottawa Police Services Information & Technology Modernization Advisory Committee, the Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police eCrime Cyber Council and ICT Committee, and the CATA Public Safety Advisory Board.
Kevin is an honours graduate of the Public Relations program from Algonquin College (‘98) and happily married to his wife, Anne-Marie, of 29 years and proud father of three daughters, Natasha, Kayla and Lana.
