Our Work
Measuring the Impact of the Student Work Placement Program (SWPP)
Purpose: Convey the unique economic and skill development outcomes of the SWPP compared to other work-integrated learning (WIL) programs in Canada.
Methodology: A nationwide survey categorized students into three groups: SWPP participants, other WIL program participants, and students not enrolled in any WIL program.
Findings: SWPP participants earned $1000+ more per month than their peers and gained enhanced transferable skills and confidence. SWPP employers gained over $400 per month of added value per student. Gender pay equity improvement opportunities were identified, guiding policy enhancement.
